THE GOOD
Chesapeake Energy (CHK) up 6.3% today after the natural-gas producer said it plans to reduce dry-gas drilling activity by 50% and curtail its gas production by about 8% after a drop in natural-gas prices.
PetMed Express (PETS) gained 11% on a surprise third-quarter profit increase with revenue UP 12% on a 29% surge in orders.
THE BAD
Research in Motion (RIMM) fell 8.5% after the BlackBerry maker’s co-CEO said they would step down. Thorsten Heins, one of two prior CEOs, is expected to be named CEO.
Fifth Street Finance (FSC) lost 5.1% after the company launched a public sale of 10 million shares of common stock.
Halliburton (HAL) fell 2.1% after the oil-services company reported 4th-quarter earnings that matched estimates.
THE UGLY
Netflix (NFLX) dropped 6.3% to lead declines in the S&P 500 after the company had some management changes.
